One might think that a sexy burlesque star would have no problems snagging a guy. But this was the case for sultry Dita Von Teese, who apparently had some trouble enticing actor Bradley Cooper with her feminine wiles at an L.A. eatery. According to ever-present "sources," Bradley was the target of her "goo goo" eyes; she even sent over a drink for the "Limitless" actor, but to no avail. Why would Cooper resist such palpable advances? There might be a few reasons.
Some men like subtlety.
During a chat with Ellen DeGeneres in April 2012, rocker Adam Levine reacted to Jennifer Love Hewitt's public admission of her crush on him. Calling her an "aggressive flirt," the "Moves Like Jagger" singer politely dismissed any possibility of hooking up. Women who come on a bit too strong turn off some men. Like Adam, Bradley may have found Dita's flirtation to be too "assertive."
Those Nosy Paps…
The paparazzi have a tendency to transform even the smallest gestures into huge tabloid stories. The "Yes Man" actor isn't the kind of star who flaunts his private life. A perceived romance with Dita Von Teese is just the kind of story gossip rags love. Had Cooper accepted the cocktail and engaged Von Teese in conversation, he might have never heard the end of it.
He didn't want to be "poisoned."
The burlesque dancer is noted for her avant-garde tastes in all things cultural. As such, Von Teese's affinity for absinthe is well known. The vintage drink was once illegal due to its questionable psychoactive ingredients. Nonetheless, she once brought a bottle of the stuff for her ex-husband Marilyn Manson's birthday. She's even made the drink a part of her burlesque routine (NSFW). While it's likely that Farfalla restaurant in Los Angeles has other appealing cocktails for Bradley, perhaps he wasn't willing to take any chances.
"He's Just Not That Into You"
In the past, Cooper's been romantically linked to such stars as Cameron Diaz and Jennifer Aniston. He was once married to actress Jennifer Esposito in 2006 and also enjoyed a brief romance with "Case 39" star Renee Zellweger in 2010. But it's his off-again/on-again relationship with "The Words" co-star Zoe Saldana that seems to be occupying his efforts these days, though their relationship status is a little fuzzy right now. Suffice it to say, Dita Von Teese and her exotic, retro persona just might not be his cup of tea.
