As much as fans love to watch their favorite celebrities in onscreen romances, it's even more satisfying when the feelings spill over into real life. While some relationships barely last past the final credits ( Shia LaBeouf's alleged tryst with Megan Fox), others lead to happily ever after (Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie); which in Hollywood usually means making it past six months.
Labor of Love
The stymied fairytale romance between Snow White and Prince Charming in ABC's "Once Upon a Time" has finally found roots in reality. Ginnifer Goodwin and Josh Dallas are in love both on camera and off. They fittingly went public at Sir Paul McCartney's "My Valentine" video launch party. Dallas is currently separated from the British actress he wed in 2007, Lara Pulver. Coincidentally, his character on the show is also married but finds his love for Snow White irresistible.
ABC's "Revenge" also has a couple of costarring lovebirds. Josh Bowman and Emily VanCamp were found out shortly after ringing in 2012 together and are still enjoying each other's company. VanCamp apparently has a history of dating costars like "The Vampire Diaries'" Joseph Morgan, Dave Annable from "Brothers and Sisters" and Chris Pratt from "Everwood," who is now married to funny gal Anna Faris.
Another repeat offender at finding love on set is Rachel McAdams. She famously fell for her "Notebook" costar Ryan Gosling in 2004 and is now dating her "Midnight in Paris" castmate Michael Sheen. McAdams told Glamour magazine she waits until after filming wraps to embark on her romances. Perhaps it was Sheen's resume of enthralling roles as Tony Blair in "The Queen," a werewolf in "Underworld" and a vampire in the "Twilight" franchise that lured the 33-year-old.
Vampire plots must have an aphrodisiac effect on actors as Ian Somerhalder, 33, and Nina Dobrev, 23, proved after meeting on the set of CW's "The Vampire Diaries." The couple was spotted at the Coachella Music Festival on April 15 and are still going strong a year after the dating rumors began. Rumored couple and "Glee" costars, Lea Michele and Cory Monteith, were also at Coachella. Much like Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart's vainly denied "Twilight" romance, art is imitating life--or vice versa.
Somerhalder's TV brother, Paul Wesley, married his former "Killer Movie" costar and "Pretty Little Liars" actress, Torrey DeVitto, last year. The actors had been dating since 2007. In Wesley's case, the onscreen love triangle which drives "The Vampire Diaries" ends when the cameras stop rolling.
"True Blood" similarly worked like a love potion for married costars, Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer. The couple felt an immediate spark which led to a lasting romance, like their characters, Bill and Sookie. When asked in a Details interview if Moyer ever called Paquin Sookie at home, he jokingly said, "All the time. When she's chained up."
