Colorado student Nicole Fox is America's Next Top Model!

The 18-year-old beat out Laura Kirkpatrick for the title, making her the show's first model under 5'7 to take the top spot. For her efforts, Fox earned a $100,000 contract with CoverGirl cosmetics, a contract with Whilhemina Models and a cover and six-page spread in Seventeen magazine.

"I'm a dork and I'm America's next top model!" Fox, who filmed a CoverGirl commercial shoot, her Seventeen cover and walked in a runway show before being proclaimed the winner by host Tyra Banks, said. "You are a star," Banks told her. "You have it."

"This journey was incredibly hard," the winning model says. "I learned to embarrass myself and sometimes I didn't think I was going to survive the journey."

Model's cycle 13 was the first time in the show's six year run that models under 5'7 were invited to compete. Though initial auditions in cities like New York resulted in such a turnout that the session had to be shut down after models were trampled, show judge Nigel Barker was happy with how the season turned out.

"[Having petite models on the show] represents a market that's rarely shown on television," Barker told Usmagazine.com at a VH1 Save the Music holiday event in New York City.

"There are petite divisions -- Wilhelmina has one -- but we've never recognized them on Top Model. "The show's often been about giving girls a chance in the modeling industry that otherwise wouldn't," he continued. "From small towns where people don't usually go around scouting for girls, it's just a dream for them that may never come true. [Top Model proves] they don't all have to be 6'4."

I was happy she won, she has great potential despite her shorter height. I would have been ok with either girl wining, they were both good, but i think Nicole showed the most consistency throughout the season, while also making a lot of progress despite her shyness. I think many girls can relate to her.

This cycle was for girls who were 5'7" and under, not "under 5'7"". The fact that Nicole herself was 5'7" means she isn't *under* 5'7". Nitpicking about author's writing aside, I'm glad Nicole won. I was wincing horribly during the "stomp out" as it seemed Nicole was taki

Every episode had one of the other models complaining about how great Nicole did week after week and how they expected her to have a great photo. If the judges hadn't chose Nicole, the show wouldnt have been a modeling competition, it would have been a personality contest. A touching story isn't a reason to pic someone as the winner, the show is about producing the best photos and

Tyra picked the right person. Laura's story about her grandmom was touching but she didn't deserve to win. Laura took good pictures but her PERSONALITY and her STORY are the reasons she made it to the finals rather than Jenn or Erin. Nicole was amazing from day one. She received the first or second photo every week cuz she ROCKED EVERY PHOTO SHOOT. It's Top MODEL, and s
