During her performance of "Rude Boy," concert goers started hurling various items, including the spud discs, at the salty singer.
Rihanna reacted to the one-sided food fight with good humor, acting as if she were most offended that the objects being thrown were lowly potato chips. "There's a good crazy and there's a bad crazy. When you throw sh*t up here, that's an epic fail…." she chided playfully, adding, "Really, chips? Chips though?!"
You have to hand it to RiRi for not getting too ticked off at the food hurling hecklers. Despite mounting criticism that she is disrespectful to the people who fund her lavish lifestyle, the Barbadian beauty continues to run on her own time clock.
With all the millions she's making on her extended tour, Rihanna could buy a Rolex. But why worry about being on time when fans seem willing to wait for her to pop in and perform whenever she feels like it?
In May, Rihanna was three hours late for her concert in Boston and failed to even acknowledge her tardiness to fans. Some critics were miffed she treated the city so poorly just a month after the tragic bombing at the Boston Marathon. But the 25-year-old pop princess seemed oblivious to her behavioral faux pas, cluelessly tweeting a link to her Instagram feed, "#BOSTON I will never forget this night!!! I truly have deeper love for you now!!! Thank you for making it extra special!! #DWT"
Fans were less forgiving. "@rihanna 2-3 hrs late for your show in Boston, huh??! #disrespectful #noexcuse basketball was more important huh?? Don't come back," tweeted @chrismahtin.
Of her possible reasons for being tardy, Perez Hilton wrote, "People have speculated that she was either shwasted backstage, watching a basketball game, or had a temporary bout of laryngitis for three hours. Maybe she was abducted by aliens? We don't really know."
Last week in Monaco, the "We Found Love" singer was three hours late again. One fan joked that maybe she couldn't find her way to the concert in the postage-stamp size country. "Still no news of Rihanna," she tweeted after waiting two hours. "She got lost in 2 square km."
Besides being habitually late, Rihanna recently let fans know she does not like them hanging out at their public beaches when she's in town. After teenagers invaded her space while she was sun bathing in a bikini, she barricaded herself with beach umbrellas, then sought pity by Instagramming a photo of herself with the caption, "This is what a beach day in Poland looks like. Getting as much sun as possible. Caged in like a f****** animal!"
What do you think? Is Rihanna's disrespectful behavior toward fans unacceptable. Or is the diva routine part of her appeal? Weigh in below.
