Yesterday the pregnant reality TV princess lunched with pals wearing a black camisole with sheer lace trim around the belly (pictured here). She may as well have painted a big arrow pointing to her mushrooming mound.
Jolie did something similar at the Oscars last year when she wowed the audience in in a racy black gown that featured a thigh-length slit through which her now legendary right leg protruded. The fashion trick drew so much attention that her leg became a hot Internet meme and even had its own Twitter feed.
Kardashian's peekaboo top was a major improvement over the stretchy green mistake she wore earlier in the week, a dress that made her look more hippo than hipster. It was a clever way for the reality TV star to show off her burgeoning bump and look chic at the same time, especially paired with a structured blazer, tight pants and braided do.
Kardashian and Jolie's fashion stunts are really nothing new. Like most women, celebs use clothing, accessories and makeup to highlight their best features.
Just this past week, Kate Hudson did an Angelina Jolie at a charity event, jutting her sculpted leg through a form-fitting black dress while her tiered geometric earrings highlighted her heart-shaped face.
Christina Hendricks bloomed like a flower in a yellow form fitting dress on the May 2013 cover of Flare. Not only did the Stella McCartney fashion flatter the "Mad Men" star's voluptuous figure, the color contrasted beautifully with her ravishing red hair.
At the editor BAFTA awards earlier this year, Anne Hathaway showed off her tall, slender bod in a Burberry column gown that made it look like her legs went all the way down to China, and her bright pink lipstick made her signature lips pop. The dress turned out to be a back-up after her first choice fashion ripped before the event.
Even Michelle Obama knows how to put her best biceps forward. She is the first First Lady ever to wear so many sleeveless dresses that expose her well-toned arms. In her early days as FLOTUS, her daring decision to flaunt her signature feature turned into a controversy when she wore four sleeveless outfits in a week. When she wore a sleeveless Jason Wu frock to her husband's State of the Union Address in February (pictured here), a possibly jealous fashionista took a jab at her on Twitter. Mocked the Washingtonian magazine, "Michelle Obama is in a stunning dress but appears ready for a cocktail party rather than a speech."
