Shortly after Paula Abdul's manager announced that "it does not appear" the dancer-singer will return to American Idol next season, fans took to Twitter to show their support for the embattled judge.

Using the hashtag "#keeppaula," they have been Tweeting like crazy.

Matt Giraud, Anoop Desai and Danny Gokey -- who are now on the Idol live tour - also each took time out to join the "Keep Paula" campaign.

Season 7's Syesha Mercado Tweeted, "No Paula = No American Idol."

Abdul's manager told the Los Angeles Times that the judge has yet to be offered a new contract for the upcoming ninth season. The announcement came as Idol host Ryan Seacrest inked a $45 million, three-year contract.

Said Abdul's manager David Sonenberg: "She's not a happy camper as a result of what's going on. She's hurt. She's angry. . . . Very sadly, it does not appear that she's going to be back on Idol."

Are you kidding? American Idol with no Paula - nope, wouldn't be the same. You gotta love her - wacky and all.

I think Paula should go. NOBODY knows what she's talking about on the show. Hello! And it takes forever for her to finish her comment on one contestant and ended up that she likes the contestant. Be like Simon - short, direct to the point (good or bad) and no blah, blah, blah. Kara and Randy are okay too. Paula ends up without saying anything about talent and performance. Boring!

Randy and Kara are the ones that matter on this show. Paula needs to go (and hopefully do a successful stint in rehab). Simon doesn't even register on my radar. Who was the idiot who thinks Ryan is important. He's annoying and the reason why I have to keep the remote close so I can hit mute when he speaks.

KEEP PAULA, It won't be idol without our 3 judges who have been there for it all! I have never missed a show, but seriously, I probly will not watch without the FAB 3 together for the duration.

I heard Paula called up the people and pleaded for their support. Then she called US Magazine and pleaded for them to listen to her story and publish it.

I'm sorry .. Paula needs to go!! I got so tired of watching her blubber her comments, fall all over Simon & seemingly be sooo out of touch that I stopped watching!! She needs to give her seat to someone that is more on top of things & let go of the limelight! She's a has been & needs to get over herself!!

She needs to go. She takes up too much time either trying to come up with words to actually say instead of getting right to the point, or "the hamster wheel's spinning, but the hamster's on vacation"--if you get my drift.

You guys are all being used by her new manager as a negotiation technique! She will be back, but her new manager is using this as a ploy to raise her salary. You guys are all idiots!!!

get rid of her. she so drugged out that it's impossible for her to make sense when she talks. she's the worst judge of anything....ever in the history of judging. i would be so happy if this rambling broad was kicked off the show.
