LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Kirsten Dunst may have spun a web around Peter Parker's heart in the big screen version of "Spider-Man," but actress Evan Rachel Wood is reportedly now set to woo the web slinger, as Mary Jane Watson in the Broadway treatment of the friendly neighborhood superhero story.

Evan Rachel Wood, best known for her role as Lucy in "Across The Universe" and currently starring in "The Wrestler," broke news to IESB.com that she would be starring in Marvel's Entertainment's "Spider-Man" the musical, as Peter Parker's girlfriend.

As for who might play the man bitten by the radioactive arachnid, Evan said fans might be treated to an "Across The Universe" reunion - the role may be filled by her co-star, Jim Sturgess.

"[They are] still trying to convince him," Evan said during the interview.

Julie Taymor, who has already had great success bringing film to the stage with Disney's "The Lion King," will direct the super hero musical.

And if that weren't enough star power for one show, U2's Bono and The Edge are writing the music and lyrics.

Evan said rehearsals for "Spider-Man" the musical start in June 2009.
