LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Eva Mendes' Calvin
Klein's Secret Obsession ad was deemed too racy for America last
August because the ad revealed too much skin. Now, the actress is
speaking out in the Spanish edition of Vogue in its November issue
about being censored, her sex symbol status and why she can
sometimes frighten her boyfriend.
The actress questioned why the original version of her
commercial, which showed a semi-nude Eva frolicking in a bed, was
not shown in America and only in Europe when other questionable
content in the media is left alone.
"I love my country, but I believe that we are too quick to
censor nudity," the actress told the Spanish edition of the fashion
mag. "We seem okay with violence, but nudity we race to criticize
and censor. I'm not at all ashamed or frightened about showing my
body."
And as for how Eva feels about being labeled a sex object, the
34-year-old adores it --as along it doesn't hurt her acting
career.

"I love it!" she said of being deemed an object of desire. "But
it's not important to me to always be thought of as sexy. I like it
when it doesn't limit my career. It's a part of my life, but on a
secondary plane."
Eva says part of her job as a Calvin Klein model and actress is
keeping a watchful eye on what goes in her body.
"I try not to go crazy, but yes, I pay attention to what I eat.
I try to stay away from pasta, bread, cakes, sweets, cookies and
ice cream," "The Women" star told the mag.

Something sweet Eva doesn't stay away from is her boyfriend --
unless she's in a heated mood.
"I don't usually lose my temper, but if I get angry, it's true - I'm scary," Eva revealed. "I scare my boyfriend!"
