When Eva Longoria appeared on The Late Show With David Letterman Wednesday, the 37-year-old actress was asked about the cast members' supposed feud with costar Teri Hatcher, 47.

"We all get along," the actress said, tensing up. "Everybody says that [we don't]."

Hatcher's name was conspicuously left off the cards attached to the parting gifts Longoria, 37, Marcia Cross, 50, Felicity Huffman, 49, and Vanessa Williams, 49, gave to their Desperate Housewives colleagues. "We gave the crew carry-on luggage that said, 'Takes us with you in all of your journeys,'" Longoria explained.

When host David Letterman, 65, asked if any of the original stars had been fired from the ABC hit, Longoria laughed. "Yes! I forgot about. . . Nicollette Sheridan. She didn't get fired. She died on the show. I got along with her. Nicollette was fun. She was a fun chick."

Not fully convinced that the actresses are indeed friends, Letterman suggested they must be competitive for camera time. "Not really," Longoria said. "It's acting! It's not football."

The two-hour series finale of Desperate Housewives airs Sunday at 8 p.m. EST on ABC.
