Eva Longoria has jumped back into the world of sports. Like "Basketball Wife" Evelyn Lozada who fell for an NFL star, she's become smitten with New York Jets quarterback, Mark Sanchez. (Hopefully, her story has a different ending.) For many, the romance between Sanchez and Longoria comes as a complete surprise. But we've become used to the fact that a feisty woman like Eva probably isn't going to be on the market very long. For the time being, the "Desperate Housewives" star says that they're happy "just dating." Whenever a popular celebrity begins a new relationship, it's only natural that we start poking and prodding into her romantic past. Here are some of Eva's highlights…
Soapy Beginnings…
So much commotion was made over Eva's fairytale wedding to NBA player Tony Parker, that many forget he was actually her second husband. She was first married to former "General Hospital" actor, Tyler Christopher. As part of their marriage overlapped her time on CBS' "The Young & the Restless", you could say that their marriage was a match made in soap opera heaven…almost. According to Eva, she was a "terrible" wife to Tyler. She credits youth and a floundering acting career for her apparent lack of dedication.
Boy Banding
Shortly after her divorce from Tyler, she was romantically linked to N'Sync boy bander, JC Chasez. The two were photographed all over the place, in coupled-up bliss. Although they unofficially were an item for several months, "The Sentinel" star seemed reluctant to admit that she and Chasez had been involved. She even allegedly told In Touch magazine, "To be fair though, I don't think any woman under the age of 14 would admit to dating JC Chasez. He was in NSync for crap's sake…" (Ouch!)
The Parker Years…
When Eva Longoria and San Antonio Spur, Tony Parker walked down the aisle in 2007, the Parisian event was an international sensation and was capped off with fireworks. Eva and Tony shared a few contented years together before things ultimately got rocky around 2010. She reportedly found hundreds of damaging text messages implying that her NBA hunk was being unfaithful. While a good deal of their divorce played out in the media, many of the nasty details were largely kept private. The two were able to go their separate ways without the scandal (of Tony's alleged cheating) doing further damage.
Cruising with Cruz
However, Longoria didn't spend too much time licking her wounds. And by 2011, she had settled into a cozy romance with Penelope Cruz's brother, Eduardo Cruz. Things really started heating up around the Super Bowl, when Eva was spotted partying on a yacht in Miami Beach. Eva kept that relationship relatively private, which is why their final split probably wasn't as shocking as it could have been.
The Mario Rumors
By now, the world has gotten used to the idea that Eva and hunky "Extra" host Mario Lopez are the tightest of BFFs, but that wasn't always the general consensus. In 2008, Mario gave his pal a necklace from Cartier for her birthday while she was still married to Parker. For the little people of the world, the name Cartier conjures up all sorts of romantic images. But for celebs like Eva and Mario, the gesture is in keeping with the way people show their friendship. Indeed, Mario's constant presence (along with those dimples and muscles) continues to keep tongues wagging. (Just sayin'...)
