Etta James is not a fan of Beyonce -- or President Barack Obama.

"You guys know your president, right? You know the one with the big ears? Wait a minute, he ain't my president, he might be yours, he ain't my president," James told fans during a Seattle concert last week.

"You know that woman he had singing for him, singing my song -- she's gonna get her a-- whipped. The great Beyonce...But I can't stand Beyonce," she added. "She has no business up there, singing up there on a big ol' president day...singing my song that I've been singing forever."

Obama and wife Michelle shared their first dance to Beyonce's rendition of the classic tune.

See what celebs wore to the Inaugural balls.

James' son, Donto, told the New York Daily News that Beyonce's Inaugural ball performance "was great" earlier, though.

"She's gotten emotional, just like everybody else. ... She was honored," he said.

Beyonce also plays James in Cadillac Records. The pair were all smiles posing at the November premiere of the flick.

Etta go back to the retirement home and make room for the new generation. You should be happy that Beyonce would even take on the part and thrilled that your song was chosen for the Inaugural Ball. Barack and Michelle Obama paid you a huge compliment by choosing your song for their dance. Show some class and applaud Beyonce and the Obamas. Its whats between those ears that counts.

PERSONALLY IN MY OPINION I THINK THAT MISS JAMES IS PURLY JEALOUS OF BEYONCE AND THE FACT THAT SHE WAS NOT RECOGNIZED TO SING HER SONG FOR THE PRESIDENT. IF YOU THINK ABOUT IT HER SONG WAS NOT THOUGHT ABOUT....UNTIL BEYONCE GAVE IT SOME NEW SOUND. MISS ETTA MY MESSAGE TO YOU IS HONOR THE FACT THAT A BEST SELLING RECORDING ARTIST HAS RE-OPENED A NEW SOUND TO YOUR SONG! "ITS THE NEW MILLENI

Beyonce's not as hot as she thinks she is. Etta is classic and you don't redo her songs. Beyonce Knowles will never be as good, famous or remotely in the same league as Etta James. I'm glad Etta gave it to her. It's about time someone took Beyonce down off her high horse.

Such vulger hateful languange over such a classy song. I'm guessing you only listen to trash talking noise that wouldn't know a melody if it ran into it. Anyone can trash talk, but few have the talent or grace of either ladies. Grow Up. Take some english classes then try to write something as beautiful as "At Last". Some manners would be nice!

Doesn't the president have the choice as to who & what is performed at his party? A song belong to the composers, not any individual artist who has sung it, no matter how successful that artist's rendition. If Ms. James' feelings were hurt, I understand, but to publicly rant as she has, shows how petty some people can be & bashing Obama & Beyonce

I think that on just the direspect factor, that Ms. Etta should be insulted that they had some young hottie singing her tune better than her---( personally, the song sucks no matter who sings it; i hate it). However, there is a level of decency that you'd think she'd display by NOT making the comments to the press, but those were her feelings and she is entitled to them.
