Elton John had quite the busy wedding weekend. No, he didn't get married to husband David Furnish again - he performed at two different weddings.
The "Rocket Man" singer performed at the wedding of Australian actress Holly Valance and her billionaire beau Nick Candy at the Paramount lot in Los Angeles. Then, he hopped on over to Laura Katzenberg's wedding to perform as a favor to his pal Jeffrey Katzenberg.
Just another busy weekend for the British icon!
The 60-year-old singer doesn't show any signs of stopping his busy schedule despite some health issues earlier this year. What else has he been up to?
Taking Over for Pal George Michael
George Michael was scheduled to headline at the opening of Australia's 15,000-seat Perth Arena on November 12. However, the troubled singer pulled out because he's dealing with some PTSD stemming from his near-fatal battle with pneumonia last year.
John came to the rescue, though: He'll play two dates at the arena in his pal's place.
"All that's left for me to do is apologise to my wonderful Australian fan base and to promise faithfully that as soon as I complete these shows here in the UK I will receive the treatment which is so long overdue," Michael said in a statement.
Fans can get refunds, but somehow we doubt many will turn down an opportunity to see Elton live.
More Songs for New Album
John already completed his "Diving Board" album for 2012, but he opted to add more songs to the LP after the release was pushed back to 2013.
"There were like seven or eight songs that were so completely of a piece that they have an identity," producer T Bone Burnett told Rolling Stone of the new material. "I think he thought, 'You know, maybe I should write some more things in that mode so that the album has a tighter identity.' Some tunes were maybe too happy for the overall identity of the album."
He recorded the bulk of the songs in January and February and told Rolling Stone that it was one of his best albums.
"It's the most exciting solo record I've done in a long, long time," he said. "It just came flooding out. Quickest record I've ever made."
New Baby on the Way?
If that wasn't enough, John and Furnish recently revealed that they're considering adding a new child to their family. The couple already has a toddler son, Zachary, but they want a sibling.
"At what stage we don't know, but … I don't want him to be an only child," John told U.K. talk show Daybreak in July.
