She might have been a Dallas Cowboy cheerleader, but
Melissa Rycroft insists that she doesn't have an advantage on this season of
Dancing With the Stars.
Check out photos of stars dancing!"I know I frustrate him [partner Tony Dovolani] to death in practice because I have so many bad habits!" Rycroft tells
Extra's
Mario Lopez on Monday. "Its natural for me to be big and do my jazz hands, and hes swatting me and hitting me, going 'No!'"
Still, she and Dovolani are faring better than some of the other
DWTS competitors -- such as
Holly Madison ,
Steve-O and Steve Wozniak -- by staying injury-free.
"I wrap everything," Rycroft says. "I can't bend my toes or bend my elbows."
See funny photos of the DWTS cast rehearsing ( Steve-O puts a bike on his nose!).
Dovolani adds: "I call her 'mummy' during practice days."
Rycroft -- who skyrocketed to national prominence when she got rejected by
Jason Mesnick on this past season of
The Bachelor -- learned a lesson about fame from her fellow
DWTS competitor,
Shawn Johnson , who had an alleged stalker scare last week.
See which stars looked better after a breakup."Thankfully I haven't had to deal with anything like that," she says. "If that stuff is going on, I am very unaware of it, which is where I would like to be because I freak myself out pretty easily. You want to be accessible to your fans, but at the same time you don't want to be too accessible..."
Johnson's situation has also taught the 25-year-old to be more careful regarding her own growing fan base.
"Three weeks ago, I was sitting at home and nobody knew who I was," she says. "So, I need to work on that now that I've been thrown into this world."
Extra's interview with Rycroft and Dovolani airs Monday evening.
