Dancing with the Stars contestant Misty May-Treanor was injured on Friday, ABC confirmed to Usmagazine.com.

"Misty May-Treanor sustained an injury on Friday and received immediate medical attention," the network said in a statement. "Despite previous reports, she did not break her ankle."

The statement continued: "She is resting comfortably at home. Doctors will reevaluate her condition on Monday and determine the outcome of her participation on the show."

The Olympic gold-medalist, 33, is partnered with pro dancer Maksim Chmerkovskiy.

Last week, DWTS judge Carrie Ann Inaba called their Pasa Doble a "most ambitious" routine for so early in the competition.

Judge Bruno Tonioli also had words of praise for the volleyball champ.

"I love your energy, I love what you put into it," he raved. "You forget the finesse - you put so much power [that] sometimes you stumble a little bit. But you do a good job."

    I hate this as Misty was one of the few "real" people on the show. Very atheletic, she is competitive and was becoming my favorite dancer. I wish her a speedy recovery and hope she can continue.

    As I do feel bad for Misty's injury and wish her a speedy recovery, I'm also feeling sad that we may not be able to see Maksim dance on DWTS. As fans, we missed him so much last season and was ecstatic he was back on the show this year. Hopefully Misty's injury won't keep them both off the show.
