DWTS Champ Acquitted of Tax Fraud

Dancing With the Stars champ Helio Castroneves was acquitted of tax evasion on Friday, but the jury remained hung on a count of conspiracy.

The Miami-based jurors reached their verdict after deliberating for six days.

The Brazilian race car driver -- he has twice won the Indianapolis 500 and was the 2007 winner of DWTS -- was indicted in October for failing to pay more than $2.3 million to the IRS over a five-year period starting in 1999.

Also cleared of the tax evasion counts was his sister and business manager, Katiucia Castroneves. His Michigan lawyer, Alan Miller, was acquitted on the conspiracy count and three counts of tax evasion. They had all faced up to six years in prison if convicted.
