"He and Nicole still have a great deal of love and affection for one another," a rep for "The Price Is Right" host said in a statement. "He will still be very involved with their son's life."

Nicole has a son, Connor, 6, from a previous relationship.

After losing more than 70 pounds in 2010, Drew told Parade magazine that Connor helped inspired him to shed the weight.

"I thought, I'm never going to see him graduate high school," he said at the time, noting that he would get winded while trying to keep up with active tyke.

The couple announced their engagement in October 2007.

Too long being together, hoping and wishing for a walk down the altar, does not usually happen when it's 'too long a wait' in happening. Think about it...long engagements, long 'significant other' relationships...generally do not work out for a lifetime of togetherness. Wedlock should occur soon with a 'wait' of no more than 2 years.

And for gawd's sake, if you're not tying the knot anytime soon, why bring kids into the equation? So wrong.

Apparently you didn't " C " where it mentioned the child WASN'T HIS !!! Oh, and, by the way, most DIVORCE LAWYERS will advise couples to rush into a marriage, despite seeming " insignificant problems " in the relationship .. Money can " fix " anything ........... after the fact !!! God Forbid they get to KNOW each other !!

I've been with the same woman for 25 years and never married her. We have 2 beautiful children that are good-looking and well-adjusted (not to mention grown)

        Why not marry her?
Because she's a shrew and if I did, she'd just find some way to screw me.
        Do I love her?
Maybe in some ways but not in the all-encompassing way that one should for a spouse.
When the kids are established in their own lives I'm leaving and I won't have to pay for a lawyer or for spousal support. My kids will still love me and I won't have to give up golf for being broke. She can keep the house. I never intended anything else.

how do you get engaged in 2007 and not married by 2012. sounds like someone got a shut up ring, not an engagement ring.

Pretty much. That is her problem though, not his. She stayed.

What he does with his private life is his business not mine or anyone elses...I lived with a person for seven years ond one day it was over and neither one of us wanted to go back over old ground and we both moved on.

When you figure the cost of a California divorce, it's downright lunacy to ever get married. If you really love each other you don't need to get the state involved.

Five years? Why not wait till the Silver Anniversary to get married. If you don't know if she is the one after a year or two max, then your waisting each other's time.

Better now than half of his wealth later. I'm sorry but I have a hard believing money is not a motive for these men and women being involved with celebrities...considering the huge egos and self-absorption...perhaps the hope of getting a huge chunk of their wealth is why these non-celeb men/women date celebrities. At least it looks like Drew Carey is a lot more careful with his money.

He has really done better on the Price is Right than I thought he would. Seeing as how he was not funny and couldn't act.

"We are going to remain good friends and have to most respect for one another....blah blah oh and I intend to remain in the child(ren)'s lives".....Yeah right! Is this the set PR speech for all so called celebrities? Maybe just keep things under wraps, we don't care if you respect each other, we all know it is a lie. Someone is p/o'd and the other is hurt...bad things will happen in next few months. Yada yada yada.
BTW - Nicole sounds like a real hoot. She had barely had the kid when she started a new relationship with Drew. Hey here's a piece of advise, why not put all your eggs into being a good mother and put getting a dude on the back burner.
