LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Donny Osmond made his debut atop the "Dancing With the Stars" leaderboard with his professional partner Kym Johnson, after steaming up the ballroom with an Argentine tango.

Although he is one of the oldest celebrities left in the competition, Donny, just 51, spiced up the dance floor with Kym to the delight of the three judges.

"The Argentine tango loves Donny Osmond," Judge Carrie Ann Inaba raved as the pair took home a 29 out of 30. "There's a whole new side of you tonight... It was so darn sexy."

"It was truly your best dance," British judge Len Goodman added.

Falling to second place were Mya and Dmitry Chaplin with their version of the same number.

While they received a high score - three 9s for a total of 27 points - Mya was warned that her "emotional connection" with the dance needed to be stronger.

"Mya, you move so well," Carrie Ann said. "What was slightly lacking at this stage for me was the emotional connection."

Nipping at their heels were Mark Dacascos and Lacey Schwimmer, who jumped into the third spot on the leaderboard after a dramatic paso doble that netted 26 points.

"Mark, you're turning into Mephisto, the red devil," judge Bruno Tonioli said. "You were on it."

And the evening ended with a three-way tie for fourth place as plenty of the celebs left in the competition showed they were hanging in there as mirrorball contenders.

Kelly Osbourne hurt her foot while dancing to her dad's song, "Crazy Train," with partner Louis van Amstel, but still received 24 points.

Joanna Krupa, who tried out her Argentine tango with fill-in partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy, also received 24 points as did Aaron Cater and Karina Smirnoff.

"It was like watching Robert Pattinson tango-ing in Twilight," Bruno said of the pop star's dance with his partner.

I'm not sure if Donny will win or not because Mya is a very strong dancer. But I think he's as sexy now as he was when I had his posters plastered all over my bedroom walls when they first came out as the Osmond Brothers. I think the three left were the right choice. Krupa just knew it was going to be her that was picked. Ha Ha that's what you get for thinking playboy would

He and Maya are definitely the best dancers of the bunch. She is amazing and he is really good for his age. Loved the "Hustle" number. I kind of hope he wins even though he is not as good as Maya, but then again, the best dancer (Giles) did not win last season.
