"I'm up and I'm down, but I don't have any tips for anybody," the country singer told Usmagazine at the Broadway opening of 9 to 5: The Musical in NYC Thursday. "It's a bitch any way you look at it. You either starve or you get fat."

Parton, 63, admitted that she doesn't exercise much -- aside from "a tiny little bit of squats and sit-ups" -- but is still conscious of the scale.
"I'm very short, so I just have to watch my weight because I have a big appetite," she told Us.
She added that instead of dieting, it's all in how you dress.

"You need a good push-up bra -- and wear clothes that make you look good," she said.
Parton -- who came to Jessica Simpson 's defense when her weight was scrutinized earlier this year -- was also disappointed that the 28-year-old singer was dropped from her country label, Sony Nashville this month.

"I think that's sad because she is a fabulous singer," Parton -- who collaborated with Simpson on the star's country debut album, Did You Know -- told Us. "They dropped me from the label too, but I just started my own label. So maybe you'll get Jessica Records next?"

Ritisha BIt's a shame that Dolly would make such a statement. Everybody that's skinny isn't starving themselves (I'm a witness) and every person that is "fat" isn't overeating.
