Shakira Guest Stars On 'Wizards Of Waverly Place' Disney ChannelAccess Hollywood

LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- "Wizard's" Gets A She-Wolf
Latin singing sensation Shakira gets her hips shaking when she guest-stars on an episode of Disney Channel's "Wizards of Waverly Place." I was on set yesterday as the sultry Colombian songstress filmed scenes with star Selena Gomez. In the episode, the Russo kids learn that Shakira doesn't really exist and that she's actually just a creation of their Uncle Kelbo. This is Shakira's first acting gig since her role at age 17 on a Latin American telenovela. She told me she was surprised to learn she could actually be funny, "I'm acting as myself. I'm actually making fun of myself. I think it's the first time and the last time!" Shakira's episode airs in Early 2010 on Disney Channel.

Meanwhile, Selena is hoping her friend Taylor Swift might be willing to make a guest appearance on "Wizards." One problem. She won't ask her. The tween sensation doesn't think it's appropriate to approach her friend with the idea. I told her to drop subtle hints.

"Curb Your Enthusiasm's" Jeff Garlin, who was thrilled that the show's season seven finale was such a success, plays "Wizard's" Uncle Kelbo. The "Seinfeld" reunion episode was the most viewed 'Curb' finale in five years. Jeff's favorite scene in the show was when Larry David attempted to play the George Costanza role after Jason Alexander quit. He revealed that Jason was coaching Larry the entire time on how to become George. Garlin says he is signed on and ready for a season eight if Larry decides to continue with the show. I say they wrapped it up perfectly and just like "Seinfeld" they should let it go out on top.
ABC's "Bachelor" Blooper
ABC yesterday sent out the first promo for Jake Pavelka's journey as "The Bachelor," promoting the January 4 premiere date. There's only one problem -- They pronounced his name wrong! In the promo, which is heavy on lame pilot references, a female announcer calls him Jake Pal-veh-kah. The only problem is that Jake's last name is pronounced Pah-vel-kah. I'd call that the "most embarrassing" flub in "Bachelor" history.
Oprah In The White House
President Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama welcome Oprah inside the halls of the White House for a holiday special, "Christmas At The White House: An Oprah Primetime Special." Airing Sunday, December 13, the hour-long special will showcase behind the scenes preparations for the holiday season and the first one-on-one interview Oprah has done with the President since he took office.
"American Idol" Returns, While "Glee" Takes A Break
Good news and bad news from FOX. First the good news... The premiere date for the ninth season of "American Idol" was announced yesterday. The show returns Tuesday January 12 with a two-hour, two-night premiere. Paula Abdul will be gone, while guest judges ranging from Neil Patrick Harris to Victoria Beckham step-in for the initial audition rounds. Now the bad news... FOX's best new show, "Glee," will have its winter finale on December 9 and won't return until Tuesday, April 13. Wow, that one hurt! The show hasn't' been in production for months since they had already wrapped production when FOX picked up the back nine episodes. The cast will head back into production in January. On the bright side, there is an all-new "Glee" tonight. Rapper/singer Eve guest stars as the head of a rival Glee club. And Volume 2 of the first half of the season's soundtrack is out on December 8!
Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!
