NEW YORK, New York (November 6, 2007) - Sean "Diddy" Combs will not face any criminal charges stemming from his altercation with a man outside a New York City hot spot, Access Hollywood has learned.
Diddy's attorney, Benjamin Braff, released the following statement to Access Hollywood on Tuesday:

"I've been informed by the Manhattan District Attorney's office that after a thorough investigation, they have made a decision not to authorize any arrests in connection with the incident involving Mr. Combs and Steven Acevado on October 13. I want to commend the DA's office and the New York City Police Department for conducting a thorough and very fair investigation into this incident and not allowing this private disagreement between two acquaintances to turn into a criminal charge."
As a result, the criminal case against the hip hop impresario is now closed.
The investigation stem from an October 13 incident outside a Gotham city hot spot, where an eyewitness told MTV News that around 3:30 AM, they saw Diddy engaged in an "intense" discussion with a man outside of the establishment.

Soon thereafter, Diddy and the other man involved reportedly entered the club and were seated at different tables
Once inside Kiosk, Diddy "aggressively marched" to the man's table and confronted him, the witness claimed. It was at this point that Diddy allegedly hit the man twice.
Sources previously told Access that police were planning on charging Diddy with third degree assault and "possibly other misdemeanor charges as well."
Following the incident, Diddy sat down with Access to address the incident.
"I got into an argument, I am a human being. I am going to get into an argument," Diddy told Access. "I am making no denial about that, but I did not punch anybody. Some times you get into an argument and as a celebrity, things are a little crazy, so things get blown out of proportion. But no, I didn't punch anybody."
