Despite rumors suggesting otherwise, Jane Lynch confirms that Dianna Agron is not leaving "Glee."
According to an E! News spoiler chat, "Even though Quinn has been MIA (and probably will be for a while), Jane Lynch assured us recently that Agron is still on the show and the rumors that she's leaving are just not true. And based on some whispers we hear from sources, Quinn might make a triumphant return to interact with someone that is very familiar to her. You know, a certain blond, bitchy cheerleader whose name rhymes with pretty."
While Dianna's fans may be thrilled to know that she is still on the show, I'm beginning to wonder if it might be in her best interests to move on.
1. Now that the seniors have graduated, Quinn won't have much to do on the show.
Aside from the occasional guest appearance, last year's seniors seem to have been relegated to occasional guest appearance. "Glee' seems to be focusing on Rachel (Lea Michele), Finn (Cory Monteith), and Kurt (Chris Colfer) as well as the new students at McKinley.
I'm thinking that the graduates might be better off exiting gracefully in order to concentrate on the new class (in the style of "Skins").
2. Quinn is "Glee's" punching bag.
Dianna has had the worst material and story lines to work with. She seems to be the writers' walking PSA.
Why is it that Santana (Naya Rivera) and Brittany (Heather Morris) are wildly promiscuous, but Quinn gets pregnant for having sex once. Millions of teens everywhere text and drive, but Quinn is the one that ends up in the wheelchair. We're wondering what Dianna did to tick off the writers so much.
And Quinn is portrayed as the mean girl while Rachel is the nice girl. But Quinn was the one who gave the prom queen title to Rachel, while Rachel was the one who sent Sunshine to the crack house.
Quinn's character is a case of art not imitating life. Quinn is supposed to be the "It Girl," but in reality she'll always take a backseat to Rachel on the show.
3. Dianna might want to pursue a movie career.
"Glee" still enjoys a cult-like following among niche viewers, but the show doesn't seem to generate the same buzz that it did during season 1. Sometimes even the best relationship run their course, and this may be true for Dianna.
She has plenty of options including movies, other TV projects, or even modeling. And she might want to challenge herself by stepping outside the mold of Quinn Fabray. Besides, Dianna is clearly an actress, not a singer.
Are you looking forward to seeing Dianna again on "Glee"? Or should she move on?
