Destiny's Child is back together! Sorta.... kinda... temporarily.
The R&B trio has banded together to make their first new music since 2004. Beyonce Knowles, Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams are set to release a new single titled "Nuclear" later this month following a prolonged break to expand their families and launch solo careers.
The new song is being released as part of a compilation of old Destiny's Child songs titled, "Love Songs". In addition to the new track, fans of the group can relive the past while turning up their hits including "Emotion" and "Cater 2 U."
The news gets even better for fans of the group with rumors swirling that the "Bootylicious" singer will get a little company from her former band mates during the upcoming Super Bowl halftime show. According to reports, the girls will reunite onstage midway through the show for a medley of some of their greatest hits topped off with their first on-stage performance of their new song.
With the news that the group is ready to start making some new music, they join an exclusive group of stars set to relaunch themselves this year. Here are some of the singers of the past ready to make some new music:
Justin Timberlake: The newlywed is ready to put his acting career on the back burner to focus on his music career again. The "Social Network" star announced the big news on Twitter writing, "To whom it may concern . . . I think I'm READY!" The announcement was accompanied with a link to his personal website which featured the singer walking into a recording studio and talking about the status of his music career. In the video he says, "I don't want to put anything out that is . . . something I don't love. You just don't get that every day. You have to wait for it." As the video ends, it is replaced with a countdown clock ticking down to Monday, January 14. While he doesn't say exactly what will happen, fans are excited that it will be their first glimpse at his first new music since 2006.
Britney Spears: The now former "The X Factor" judge has officially taken her leave from the judges' table after one season to focus on her own music career. In her statement the star says, "I had an incredible time doing the show and I love the other judges and am so proud of my teens but it's time for me to get back in the studio." Another issue for the star was her desire to get back out on stage, she said, "Watching [the contestants] all do their thing up on that stage every week made me miss performing so much! I can't wait to get back out there and do what I love the most." Brit Brit's last album, "Femme Fatale", was released in March 2011.
