Kimberly Buffington-Quaid is saying adios to her eight-year marriage to "Vegas" star Dennis Quaid.
An insider allegedly told TMZ, "Kimberly is fed up with Dennis's cheating and wants out of the marriage . . . he's not a good husband."
The move is hardly a surprise since the former real estate agent threatened divorce in March, only to mysteriously reconcile and go on a romantic Bora Bora vacation with the "Vegas" star.
Formerly married to one-time rom-com queen Meg Ryan, Quaid's ability to be monogamous remains a big question mark. Though the "You've Got Mail" star took heat for cheating on her All-American husband with Aussie actor Russell Crowe, she later alleged he cheated on her first. "Dennis was not faithful to me for a very long time, and that was very painful," she reportedly told InStyle magazine.
Rumor has it that Buffington-Quaid reconciled with the "Frequency" actor only after finding out she would get peanuts if she divorced him, but the alleged infidelity may have been too painful to remain in the marriage for purely financial reasons.
The couple has young boy-girl twins around whom they rallied after the hospital in which they were born made a drug error and the children almost died.
The Quaids are not the only couple whose shaky marriage suffered multiple divorce threats.
Laura Dern and husband Ben Harper separated, reconciled and then separated again in a marriage that had "more plot twists than a daytime soap opera!" according to one blogger. The "Enlightened" actress claims she was blindsided two years ago when Harper hit her with divorce papers, but after a romance repair effort this year failed she decided to hire her own divorce lawyer.
Ironically, Dern hired the same celebrity divorce lawyer as the soon-to-be ex Mrs. Quaid -- Laura Wasser.
The most famous turbulent couple in Hollywood history was Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton, the subject of Lindsay Lohan's upcoming "Liz and Dick" biopic on Lifetime. The couple just couldn't decide if they wanted to be married or not, so they married and divorced twice.
Both married to others at the time, the iconic couple met while they co-starred in "Cleopatra" -- an eerie precursor to the Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie romance. Their first marriage to each other lasted ten years; the second, less than one.
Though their relationship was reportedly passionate, Burton's fondness for alcohol may have ultimately caused both marriages to fail.
