Shortly after Danny DeVito and Rhea Perlman changed their minds about getting divorced, another famous celebrity husband and wife has said "never mind" to ending their marriage -- for now. Though Dennis Quaid and Kimberly Buffington have split more times than a banana, they recently decided to remain a couple after all.
The only problem is they signed the divorce papers already so they will probably have to get married all over again. Bummer for them, but that should be good news for Hollywood wedding planners and prenup attorneys.
The mother of Quaid's twins filed for divorce from the "Vegas" star back in October, allegedly due to his philandering. At the time TMZ quoted an "insider" as saying, "Kimberly is fed up with Dennis's cheating and wants out of the marriage . . . he's not a good husband."
DeVito and Perlman allegedly broke up for similar reasons. When the couple said "I don't" last fall, a popular celebrity website cited a source who explained, "Despite his reputation as a lovable, funny guy in movies and on TV, Danny's actually quite the flirt and ladies' man . . . . After years of turning a blind eye to it, Rhea finally snapped. She had enough of his bad-boy behavior and wanted an end to their marriage."
Why the two couples reunited is anyone's guess. It's possible Quaid and DeVito promised to clean up their acts after figuring out flying solo wasn't as fun as they thought -- or maybe they realized it's cheaper to keep her.
Chances are slim that the "Two and a Half Men" star will dive back into marriage with the now 50-year-old Demi, who recently asked him for alimony. Since becoming @justdemi on Twitter, the "LOL" actress mainly sees her ex these days when the two promote their anti-sex-trafficking foundation that was renamed last fall from The Demi and Ashton Foundation to THORN: Digital Defenders of Children.
Another couple that is unlikely to become a romantic duo again is Katy Perry and Russell Brand, the latter of whom recently described his brief marriage to the "I Kissed a Girl" singer as "a drag." On an XFM radio show he was hosting for charity, the scruffy comedian joked that "marriage is a bond that can last up to 14 months."
Of course, the celebrity couple least likely to get back together is Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries, whose made-for-TV nuptials "Kim's Fairytale Wedding: A Kardashian Event" was telecast on E! after the pair was already separated. Though not yet officially divorced from her unSpecial K, the reality TV star has been canoodling with Kanye West, and the couple now known as KimYe is expecting a baby girl in July.
