  In California, the insurance follows the car not the driver. That's why you need to be careful about who you allow to drive your car. So whether or not Debra was driving, if she's the owner, she is liable.

  I don't agree with one of your viewers. I was driving my dad's car, but I weren't responsible for the accident! Just because someone else was driving her car, doesn't necessarily make her responsible for the accodent. Hopefully, she was fully covered.
