"I texted her to check on her," Spade told Usmagazine.com Saturday at the Lili Claire Foundation Benefit Dinner and Concert in L.A.
"I think things get blown out of proportion," Spade told Us of Locklear's arrest. "She's always solid and always a great person."
He continued: "I think people understand it's a tough situation and she's good. I don't think there's anyone who doesn't feel for her or have nice things to say about her in my experience."

Locklear, 47, was pulled over by California Highway Patrol after a resident reported that she was driving "erratically." Patrol spokesman Tom Marshall told the AP that the responding officer spotted Locklear's car parked on a state highway blocking a lane. "In talking with her, the officer determines that she seems to be under the influence of something," Marshall said.
Locklear was taken into custody, tested for drugs and alcohol, booked and released.
