Music producer and composer David Foster doesn't find anything strange about his sister, Jaymes Foster having
Clay Aiken 's baby.
"She's very close with Clay -- they're best friends," David told the Associated Press Thursday. "It made perfect sense to me that he'd want to have a child with his best friend."
Find out where your favorite Idol stars are now.Jaymes, who is reportedly in her late 40s, gave birth to Parker Foster Aiken last August after conceiving the baby with Aiken, 30, through in-vitro fertilization.
David -- who has worked with the likes of
Whitney Houston and
Madonna and is writing about his sister's relationship with Aiken in his autobiography,
Hitmaker -- considers it "a very normal situation."

The
American Idol runner-up is a "spectacular father," David, 59, adds.
He says that Jaymes, also a music producer who worked with Aiken on his last album, is "a natural mother" who "always wanted a child, so it kind of worked out."

"They're working it out," he says. "I don't know quite how. It's a bicoastal thing."
