Daniel Radcliffe Might Join Other Famous Hollywood Drinkers

Daniel Radcliffe joins a host of other celebrities who've had trouble with alcohol in the past.

Remember when the first Harry Potter movie came out and Daniel Radcliffe seemed so innocent? How the years have changed. The star recently commented that he was drunk while filming several scenes of the later movies. Now that he has moved on to new things, Radcliffe better be careful. Hollywood has seen its fair share of lushes over the years. Showing up to work drunk is one sure way to land on a list like this. Here is a look at some of the most famous Hollywood personalities that made the news because of booze.

    Mel Gibson

There's a reason we don't see Gibson in movies much anymore. Gibson had a DUI arrest in 1984 but managed to keep things under control after that. That has changed in the 2000s. His drinking has led to a range of legal problems and isolation from some in the celebrity community. From dropping anti-Semitic remarks during a DUI arrest to leaving some less than friendly voicemails, Gibson created an unflattering image for himself. Gone is the charming guy we loved to see in action and comedy movies. Instead we have a guy that has become the butt of jokes in Hollywood.

    David Hasselhoff

David Hasselhoff was once an icon on television. But while some of remember Hasselhoff from his famous television roles, the first video we think about is the infamous drunken video. The famous clip has the "Baywatch" lifeguard crawling around the floor drunk and shirtless trying to eat a cheeseburger. Ironically, Hasselhoff regained a lot of fame as an internet sensation.

    Nick Nolte

Nolte has been nominated for three Oscars. But people are more likely to remember his famous picture than any of the movies that earned him that sort of recognition. Nolte gave us a lasting image of why Hawaiian shirts might not be stylish anymore after he was arrested for a DUI in 2002. The shot of him with his hair standing on edge and the face of a statue will easily be the most famous image of his otherwise strong career.

    Ben Affleck

Affleck was once a bankable actor and is now a respected director. In between he had his share of trouble due to booze. During a time when Affleck appeared in a series of bad movies he came to terms with his drinking and went to rehab. A statement at the time said that he hoped for a fuller life without booze. He has made good on that promise. Affleck is now known for having a successful marraige and directing successful films.

I love this dude.. He is straightforward and a heck of a talent. He called out the Academy this week for snubbing the last Potter film and directly took a jab at Scorsese's film Hugo. I thought that was brassy and hilarious all while standing firm for that franchise and the people that made it.

He seems like a good guy and not typical Hollywood, which is refreshing to a T! A guy you could walk up to at a tavern shoot the breeze. Hope he doesn't drink himself to the state of regret though, anyway keep up the good work sir.

Funny dude as well if you have seen him interviewed.

Oh, for heaven's sake. Leave him alone! He's already admitted to it and he's been sober for a long time now. LET IT GO, PEOPLE!

Well, if he was an raging drunkie, then we should do something. But he didn't turn out like Lindsay Lohan, so leave him alone.

Sad to watch someone so young crash and burn. Hope a deep internal change for the better is in his future, and soon.
