Dane Cook's half brother -- who was also his business manager -- has pled not guilty to stealing millions of dollars from the comedian, and is being held on $3 million bail, the Associated Press reports.

Darryl McCauley was arraigned Wednesday on three counts of larceny and forgery. Massachusetts State Police authorities allege Cook's brother forged a $3 million check and deposited it in his account -- while being paid $12,500 a month as his manager.

Cook's lawyer, Joseph Zwicker, said Cook is "very distraught" about the situation. McCauley's attorney, Robert Goldstein, called his client is innocent.

"Mr. McCauley denies taking money from his brother without his consent," he said. "He's ready to confront these allegations."

McCauley, who has been in charge in charge of Cook's financial affairs since the '90s, allegedly used the funds to buy four cars and take a seven-day trip across the country. Prosecutors say they raided McCauley's Maine home and found $800,000 in cash in a safe.

As bad as it sounds, family are the first to consider when something comes up missing. And if it's not them, then 9 times out of 10 it is someone you know. Somebody robbed us once before and that's the first thing that the investigator told us...." It's someone that you know ".
