'Dancing's' Julianne Hough To Have Appendix Removed

LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- "Dancing With the Stars" professional dancer Julianne Hough has been diagnosed with endometriosis and will have her appendix removed, the two time "DWTS" championed announced in a statement on her Web site.

"After consulting with her doctor, this course of treatment was recommended," the statement on her Web site said. "Hough will address the surgery on Monday night's 'Dancing With the Stars' where she'll perform with celebrity partner Cody Linley."

As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, the blonde professional dancer was taken to the hospital after experiencing abdominal pains last week.

"Endometriosis is the development of uterine-lining tissue outside the uterus on the surfaces of organs in the pelvis or abdomen where they are not supposed to grow," the statement went on to say. "It is a common medical condition found in 5-10% of women of reproductive age around the world."

Julianne told Access Hollywood that news of her health traveled fast -- even faster than she could get to the hospital.

"First of all, I hadn't even gotten to the hospital and I saw [a] Google alert, 'Julianne Hough collapses and is rushed to the hospital.' And I'm like, 'Oh my gosh, so dramatic!' But then today, I got [another] Google alert!" she told Access.

"It's worldwide news that Julianne has stomach issues," she added with a laugh.
