The stork has visited many Hollywood homes this year, and in true Tinseltown fashion many celebs have given their tiny tots unique names. In the past, some celebrity offspring were cursed with wacky and weird monikers, but this year's crop of tots were given names that might be just a little too cute. Here's a look at the most awww-inducing celebrity baby names of 2012:
Olive Barrymore Kopelman
It might seem a bit odd that Will Kopelman and Drew Barrymore gave their daughter the same name as one of Drew's movie characters – the actress voiced oddball dog Olive in the Christmas special "Olive, the Other Reindeer." However, it's a bright and cheerful name that definitely reminds us of Drew. Besides, little Olive will probably love watching her cartoon namesake's Christmas adventure when she's older.
Tennessee James Toth
Reese Witherspoon's son Tennessee James Toth is proof that the humble "Walk the Line" actress hasn't forgotten where she came from: His moniker is a tribute to her home state. The tot's more common middle name is most likely a reference to his father, CAA agent James Toth. If Tennessee becomes too much of a mouthful, the tyke's parents can always start calling him T.J.
After remaining tight-lipped about the name of their son, born in September, Freddie Prinze Jr. and Sarah Michelle Gellar recently revealed the name of their new little guy. With his tough guy moniker, Rocky James might follow in the footsteps of his mom by becoming a vampire slayer. But if "Twilight" has become so tiresome that all the bloodsuckers have vanished by the time he grows up, he might want to pick up a pair of boxing gloves instead of a stake.
Exton Elias Downey
Robert Downey Jr. plays comic book character Iron Man, so it's fitting that he gave his son a name that sounds like it could be a superhero's alter ego. However, according to RDJ, Exton is actually named after wife Susan Downey's eccentric uncle – the poor guy realized he wasn't given a middle name in fourth grade, so he chose his own!
Maxwell Drew Johnson
Speaking of great middle names, Drew Barrymore should love the one that Jessica Simpson and Eric Johnson picked for their daughter. Before the first-time mom shared her baby's name, she commented to Elle, "It's nothing shocking and nothing you'll have to add to the dictionary. Still, when people hear it they'll know … why." Though critics bashed the "Fashion Star" judge's choice, there's actually a sweet sentiment behind the moniker. Maxwell is Eric's middle name and his grandmother's surname, while Drew is grandmother Tina Simpson's maiden name. It's the perfect mix of unusual and adorable.
