Country singer
Mindy McCready has entered rehab following an
emergency visit to a Nashville, Tennessee hospital, her rep
confirmed to Usmagazine.com Wednesday.
"
Mindy McCready did receive emergency care at Vanderbilt University
Medical Center," her rep said. "Other issues made it prudent for
her to seek longer term and broader based treatment."
"To her credit, she has entered into an extended care facility
where she will receive the care needed and for the moment we ask
that everyone respect her privacy," the rep added.
The
New York Daily News reported Wednesday that
she suffered a nervous breakdown.
Citing sources close to McCready, the paper claimed her longtime
on-again/off-again romance with former New York Yankees pitcher
Roger Clemens took a toll on the singer. The pair became involved
in 1991 when McCready was 15-years-old.
"She's at the end of her rope," a source told the
Daily
News.

TMZ.com reported Wednesday that McCready had
entered an Arizona rehab facility after mixing vodka and Ambien in
an alleged suicide attempt.
McCready has a 2004 drug conviction and lost custody of her
2-year-old son Zander with country singer Billy McKnight.
