LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Cloris Leachman has left the ballroom.

The oldest ever competitor in "Dancing With the Stars" history was finally sent packing on Tuesday night.

At 82, Cloris had impressed her critics, regularly returning week after week to the ballroom as a host of celebs including Rocco DiSpirito and Kim Kardashian were voted off.

Trouble began brewing on the eve of this week's competition, however, when it was suggested that Susan Lucci was "fit to be tied," according to the Chicago Sun Times, over Cloris' continued appearance (feelings Susan denied in a statement to Access).

Regardless, Cloris finally had her day and as she left with partner Corky Ballas, the entire ballroom audience stood up to give the octogenarian a standing ovation.

"I'm not leaving," the frisky Cloris told co-hosts Tom Bergeron and Samantha Harris. "I can't go home! What, are you serious? This is a joke!"

In related "DWTS" news, Cody Linley said his partner, Julianne Hough, who underwent an operation earlier today to remove her appendix, is doing well.

"Her operation went as planned and she's at home and resting," he said. "That's good news."

Next week, Cody will dance with Edyta Sliwinska, who was kicked off the first week of Season 7 with comedian Jeffrey Ross.

"Edyta's an amazing dancer and I'm looking forward to learning a new dance from a great dancer," Cody said of his new partner.

thank goodness she's finally gone! i can't believe that she lasted through the first week, let alone so many more. my hat's off to her energy, but she clearly was not a contender any longer.

What Carrie Ann said was true and yes she might have wanted to say it in a different way but you know what that is life. I love Cloris but she should have been gone after week one. I think she was making it each week because people love her as a person and that she was the oldest star to ever dance on the show. Her run needed to be over.

I'm sorry Cloris Leachman's run on DWTS has ended. What an inspiration. And I am really sorry Carrie Ann Inaba forgot that a word of kindness goes a lot farther than a vinagar laced word. Carrie Ann Inaba really dissapointed. Carrie Ann Inaba told Leachman after her cha-cha Monday that she was sad singer Toni Braxton was eliminated last week instead of Leachman. The funnywoman see
