Christina Aguilera has had many different styles over the years, but the one she recently debuted might take the cake. The singer taped an appearance for "Extra," where she showed off the pink braids in her hair. In addition, the reality TV judge also sported pants with stars on them, as well as a stylish leather vest. Christina, who was joined by her fellow judges from "The Voice," sat down with Mario Lopez to promote the show. Of course, her new look is sure to generate the majority of the buzz from the interview. Christina has always been busy, but the second half of 2012 has been especially full for the star. Here are a few other recent news stories involving the former teen pop star.
She helped raise money for hurricane relief
After Hurricane Sandy ravaged the east coast, many celebs took action, including Christina. The petite songstress took part in an NBC telethon just days after the tragic event. The star opened up the "Hurricane Sandy: Coming Together" special with a stunning rendition of the song "Beautiful." The cause held a special meaning for Christina, who was born in the New York borough of Staten Island. "We will not leave any one of you behind, because every single one of you matters," said the star as she introduced her song.
She's battling weight comments
Xtina's weight has been a hot topic for some time now. Her frame has often been the subject of a number of mean jokes, but she is doing a nice job of not letting them get to her. First, she displayed her confidence with her music video for "Your Body." Then, she shot back at some false comments that she was tired of being a "skinny white girl." Christina isn't fighting the battle by herself. She has gotten support from others in the celebrity community, including Adam Levine. "I think it's horrible and I'll totally defend her when people say things like that because it's no one's business." said her fellow judge.
She's taking a break from "The Voice"
This spring, Christina won't be on the judging panel for the hit NBC show. She is taking a break to focus on her new album and tour, but fans shouldn't worry too much. The star will be back on the show for the fifth season next fall. Christina said that her decision to take a break was bittersweet, but that she had to do it in order to stay sharp. "In order to remain great coaches and to stay relevant, we have to go out and we have to still tour, see our fans one-on-one," she said. "I have to feel creatively fulfilled in order for me to then do my job as a coach and be on that show."
