Christina Aguilera Gets Revealing About Her Pregnancy

NEW YORK, NY (November 28, 2007) - Christina Aguilera has stripped down to bare her pregnant body for the January 2008 issue of Marie Claire magazine.

The pop singer, who waited months before finally confirming her baby news in early November, spoke to the magazine about why she kept her news private for so long.

"Because I hadn't said anything, people thought I was trying to keep it this big, bad secret, and that's not the case at all," Aguilera told Marie Claire. "I just wasn't commenting. I'm not being like, 'Hey, everybody, I'm pregnant!' I'm not that girl."

Aguilera told the magazine she was planning to try for a baby with husband, record executive Jordan Bratman, after her "Back To Basics" concert trek, but she got pregnant quicker than she expected.

"We were planning on starting to try after the tour. And so, I had gone off the Pill to prepare my body, because I didn't know how much time it would take. You've heard it takes some time -- except with Power Egg and Super Sperm here," she laughed. "I'm like, 'Oh, my God, can you believe it just happened?'"

The singer reckons she conceived during a stop in Georgetown.

As a result of the intricate contraptions that were part of her stage set up on tour, Aguilera said she had to take extra precautions once she learned she was expecting, including wearing a heart monitor.

"I was paranoid. There are so many things that could go wrong -- somebody could slip, somebody could fall, I could fall. There was no way in hell I was going to jeopardize my baby for my show," she said.

Another precaution the singer took? Telling her tour companions she was with child.

"I didn't want to make the audience uncomfortable, like, 'Pregnant lady onstage! Is she going to be OK?' But I had to announce it to my band and my dancers, because I wanted to make sure they had my back," she said.

The planet can handle all the people, but not all the pollution and technology we create. It is sad that in this world that there are people dying because they have too much to eat and because some don't have enough. There is plenty for everyone if we all could stop advancing and find a way to make it work. But that will never happen as long as people chase the all mighty dollar & materialism.

Have to say I agree with Ally that the world is overpopulated by humans, but it is every human beings right to have a family. I don't think it is at all selfish or irresponsible for a person to want a baby of their own. It is normal and the strong majority of the worlds desire. Someone said that God created the world for more life to be made on it. I am sure he did but didn't expect over 6 bil

I paid $33,000 to adopt. It was my only option since I couldn't have kids. It was a long process full of paperwork, tests and appointments but I wouldn't change it for the world. Not many people have that kind of money or patience to adopt. If you are able to have biological children then you should if that's what you choose. Ally must be young or uneducated, or a bitter woman with cats.

Okay Ally you just crossed the line. My mom is pregnant. That doesn't mean that she is a bad person. In fact we are good people. We donate money to charities and buy things for foster/homeless people and we don't hurt anyone by having a baby that is truly ours. What do you think about that? So I suppose that you are going to adopt? If you weren't planning to then why are you dissing other people?
