Christian Bale Attends Spanish 'Dark Knight' Premiere Following London Arrest

BARCELONA, Spain -- A day after he was arrested by police in London for alleged assault of his mother and sister, Christian Bale was all smiles as he hit the red carpet for "The Dark Knight," in Barcelona, Spain.

Bale did not speak to reporters who were awaiting the movie star's arrival. However, he did pose for photos on the red carpet.

He made no comments about the incident in London, according to the Associated Press.

Bale arrived in a 15-car motorcade and the AP reported he appeared "calm," at the event.

As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, Bale was arrested by British police on Tuesday.

Bale was accused of lashing out at his mother, Jenny, and sister, Sharon, as they visited him at London's Dorchester Hotel on Sunday.

Bale's mother and sister made the formal allegation at a Hampshire police station on Monday. Their complaint was then passed on to the Metropolitan Police to be investigated further.

Christian Bale has denied the assault allegations made by his mother and sister.

"Christian Bale attended a London police station today, on a voluntary basis, in order to assist with an allegation that had been made against him to the police by his mother and sister," Christian Bale's attorneys said in the statement released previously to Access Hollywood. "Mr. Bale who denies the allegation, co-operated throughout, gave his account in full of the events in question, and has left the station without any charge being made against him by the police. At this time, there will be no further comment by Mr. Bale."
