Are Chris Brown and Rihanna engaging in a tattoo battle to see whose ink can get the most tabloid attention?
Rihanna recently raised eyebrows by getting a huge tattoo of the Egyptian goddess Isis underneath her breasts, which she bizarrely claimed was in honor of her dead grandmother, and now Breezy is rocking a piece of body art that appears to show a woman with a black eye and a beat-up face. The ink has been compared to the photos of Ri-Ri that were taken after Chris assaulted her.
But according to his rep, Breezy isn't trying to anger fans who are still upset about what he did to his ex - the portion of the tat that looks beat up is actually supposed to represent a sugar skull, which is a symbol used in the Mexican celebration of the Day of the Dead. Unfortunately the explanation only makes the neck tattoo slightly less unattractive.
Oddly enough, another male celeb accused of beating his ex recently decided to get a face tattoo - NFL star Chad Johnson is having a portrait of his soon-to-be ex-wife Evelyn Lozada tattooed on his leg in hopes of winning her back. Johnson allegedly head-butted Evelyn after she confronted him over a condom receipt that she found in his car. After the incident Evelyn filed for divorce, and Chad got dropped from the Miami Dolphins. Now he's waiting to see if he'll be charged for the attack.
Another man who decided to get a tattoo of his lover's face is warning Chad that he'll eventually regret his new body art. Actor Tom Arnold once had a portrait of Roseanne Barr's face inked on his chest, and it took 18 months of painful laser removal sessions to have the ink erased after the couple split. According to Tom, he also got his body art in a desperate attempt to save his marriage, but obviously it didn't work. And now he labels getting the tat "the stupidest thing he ever did."
Then there's tattoo artist Kat von D, who probably should have known that getting a tattoo of Jesse James on her rib cage would turn out to be an awful idea. According to Us Weekly, here's what she said about the ink: "He had a rough childhood, so to see what he's become from there, it's amazing. That's why I wanted the picture of him as a child, to capture that certain innocence." That's right - her creepy tattoo is a portrait of Jesse as a kid. Unfortunately adult Jesse isn't so innocent - the Kat ended their engagement when she discovered that he had cheated on her with 19 women.
Megan Fox's tattoo wasn't quite as awful as those mentioned above, but she still opted to have it removed. The actress simply outgrew her Marilyn Monroe face tattoo, telling Jay Leno this about it back in February: "I was stubborn and thought that I was going to love it forever, or that it would be like a book of my life, all the things that I loved when i was young. It's not that way at all." She described getting it removed as "really painful."
So do you think that Chris will also end up regretting his latest bit of body art?
