Charlize Theron Traveling To 'Arabia'

LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Charlize Theron is set to produce and star in an adaptation of "Florence of Arabia," according to Variety.

The "Hancock" star's Denver and Delilah Films production house has reportedly acquired the rights to Christopher Buckley's novel, which takes a satiric look at a State Department worker (to be played by Charlize) who fights for women's rights in a Middle Eastern country.

Before that, the statuesque star will appear in another adaptation, that of Cormac McCarthy's Pulitzer Prize-winning "The Road." The film, which co-stars Viggo Mortensen, is due in October.

According to The Hollywood Reporter's Risky Business blog, Charlize is also in talks to develop an adaptation of Ayn Rand's "Atlas Shrugged" for Epix, the new subscriber-supported cable network in the works from Lionsgate, MGM and Viacom/Paramount.
