Actress Charlize Theron has a lot going on in her life at the moment. She recently adopted a baby boy, Jackson, in March and has been taking him on press junkets as she promotes her two new films, "Snow White and the Huntsman," and "Prometheus." She has also founded the Charlize Theron Africa Outreach Project, which through community-based organizations helps to keep African youth safe from HIV/AIDS.
Her fans should be excited about her two upcoming films, both sure to be summer blockbusters. This Friday she will appear as the ultimate bad mother in "Snow White and the Huntsman." As the gorgeous but evil Queen Ravenna, she will do her best to make her stepdaughter Snow White's (Kristen Stewart) life miserable, going so far as to send a Huntsman (Chris Hemsworth) after her to kill her. To try to hold onto the "fairest in the land" status, Theron will appear in a series of spectacular costumes designed by Oscar-winning fashion designer Colleen Atwood, some constructed of such unusual materials as beetle wings and rooster feathers.
And on the following week, on June 8, she will appear in Ridley Scott's 3-D "Prometheus," the "Alien" director's latest foray into the world of science-fiction. Theron plays Meredith Vickers, the mission director of an scientific expedition, exploring space for evidence of ancient aliens. Her team discovers at first exciting, and then terrifying clues to the origins of mankind on Earth. The film also stars Noomi Rapace, Michael Fassbender, Idris Elba, and Guy Pearce.
The South-African born actress, who won a best Actress Academy Award for her performance in 2003's "Monster," is also set to film in June the upcoming action movie "Mad Max: Fury Road," directed by George Miller. It looks like Charlize Theron will be having a very busy and exciting summer, indeed.
