People Magazine named Channing Tatum Sexiest Man Alive this year. The accolade came as a surprise to the Hollywood actor and his wife, as well.
"My first thought was, 'Y'all are messing with me,'" the actor said. "I told Jenna [Tatum's wife actress Jenna Dewan-Tatum] after we'd been in the bathtub washing our dogs because they'd gotten skunked. She was like, 'What?'"
It's easy to see why the magazine chose this actor. After performing as a stripper in "Magic Mike" and showing off his muscular body the guy deserved some recognition. We don't deny Channing is sexy but we have some better picks.
Joseph Gordon Levitt
We've been crushing on JGL ever since he first starred in "Third Rock From the Sun." The kid actor turned into one of Hollywood's most wanted men and this year he's starred in some pretty big movies including "The Dark Knight Rises," "Looper," and "Lincoln." JGL isn't a beefcake like Channing but he plays to an intellectually sexy audience, and not every Hollywood actor can can win with that crowd. When will Joe get his time in the spotlight as one of the industry's sexiest men?
Give this guy Sexiest Man Alive already!! Last year when People chose Bradley Cooper for the spot many of Ryan's adoring fans became upset, so much so they even started a petition to try to get People to change their mind. He showed off his killer acting skills and rocking bod in movies like "Drive" and "Ides of March" in 2011, which practically made him a shoe-in. 2012 wasn't a big acting year for Ryan so we don't blame People for not choosing him this year. Next year, however, we hope the magazine will get their act together.
Daniel Day Lewis
Daniel might not be young and ridiculously ripped like the other guys on this list, but not all of us swoon over the young and the beautiful. Aside from being an incredibly talented method actor, when he's out of all of the stage makeup, he's known to be quite the ladies man. Anyone else feeling us on this one? Daniel will star in this month's long-awaited movie, "Lincoln," and we're looking forward to another Oscar-winning performance.
