One common theme among designers' collections shown at New York Fashion Week and London Fashion Week was the use of sheer fabrics. Designers like Charlotte Ronson and Temperley relied on sheer for many of their collection pieces - and celebrities are taking notice.
Of course celebrities like the sheer blouse trend: their toned bodies look amazing in a sheer fabric. New mom Jennifer Connelly opted for a sheer black top over a black bra when she stepped out at the "Every Woman, Every Child" event on Tuesday in Manhattan.
The actress, 40, was there to support the cause that's near and dear to her heart.
"I gave birth to my daughter Agnes three and a half months ago, like many women, I gave birth to her at home," Connelly told US Weekly.
"But unlike many women around the world, my birth was attended by a skilled midwife. I'm very excited to be here to support Save the Children and to support mothers around the world that don't have access to health care."
And she looked very sleek doing so! What other celebrities are rocking the sheer trend?
It technically wasn't just a blouse, but actress Gwyneth Paltrow wore a two-piece sheer Pucci dress to the 2011 Primetime Emmy Awards earlier this week. People either love or hate the dress, though we admire Paltrow's ability to push the fashion envelope.
Colombian stunner Sofia Vergara was spotted sporting a sheer leopard print top with black bra when she lunched at Los Angeles hot spot The Ivy in late August. The "Modern Family" beauty missed the mark with the other half of her outfit: her jeans were too light and the wrong fit for her sheer top, though we're sure her boyfriend didn't mind.
Recently divorced actress Olivia Wilde went really wild with her blouse at the premiere of her summer blockbuster, "Cowboys and Aliens." The polka-dotted blouse was gorgeous, though she opted to go sans bra. Daring!
Several expectant celebrity moms have opted to go sheer over their bellies. New mom January Jones sported one in the later months of her pregnancy, opting for a black sheer top with black bra and beige cardigan while running daily errands.
Do you like the sheer blouse look for fall? Will you wear it?
