The thong was the underwear of choice for many fashion-conscious women in the early 2000s. The tiny garment was so ubiquitous that rapper Sisqo even made an ode to it in 2000 -- "The Thong Song."
Rihanna apparently loves the look, judging from her recent Instagram shots. One of her most recent posts shows off her assets in a white thong and tall Prada boots.
"Gotcha b***h tip toeing on my marble flo'!!! Sick ass custom Prada boots! Miuccia you RULE!!! Thank you," she captioned the Instagram shot.
She definitely has the body for it, so more power to her!
Will she single-handedly bring back the look? We don't know. What we do know: These hot celebrities have us thinking about showing off our "dumps like a truck."
"Starships" rapper Nicki Minaj helped boys ring in Valentine's Day - a day she dubbed "vag day" - in a neon yellow thong bikini.
Minaj definitely had plenty of back to show off in that bikini - and it's no surprise that she likes it when people talk about her butt.
"I don't mind the questions," she said in 2011. "I don't mind the fascination. It's all good. I mean...but I've said this before, [my butt] doesn't define me. … Like, if you guys focus energy on and spend energy on it, I don't mind it."
Miranda Kerr is doing her best to sell Victoria's Secret panties in her down time, judging from this shot. Not surprisingly, the mom of baby Flynn is serious about her underwear.
"Underwear is very important," Kerr said earlier this month. "It's such an intimate part of my every day life."
Amber Rose might be a mom now, but just a few years ago she was carefree - and dating Kanye West. One of the perks of dating such an international rap superstar? Frequent vacations - and by the looks of it, Rose took full advantage of the her sunbathing time with a red thong bikini that showed off her perky behind.
