"Superbad" star Jonah Hill is in talks to star in a modern-day big screen adaptation of "21 Jump Street," per Variety.

The old FOX TV series, which aired from 1987 - 1991 and starred Johnny Depp, followed a group of young cops who went undercover at various high schools and colleges.

Not only would Hill star in the film, but he would also executive produce.

Hill, who currently can be seen in "Forgetting Sarah Marshall," will next be seen in the Ricky Gervais comedy "This Side of the Truth" and is lending his voice to the Dreamworks animated feature "How to Train Your Dragon."

His previous film credits include "Knocked Up," "Evan Almighty" and "Accepted."

Daniel Day-Lewis is in negotiations to replace Javier Bardem in the musical "Nine," reports Variety.

The Oscar-winner would play the role of Guido Contini, after Bardem dropped out of the project claiming he was exhausted from work and awards season.

The role would be as a famous film director who experiences personal and creative crisis while trying to balance all the women in his life.

Penelope Cruz, Marion Cotillard, Sophia Loren, Nicole Kidman and Judi Dench would all play different women in his life.

Day-Lewis won the Oscar for Best Actor for his role as Daniel Plainview in "There Will Be Blood."

Christian Slater and Cuba Gooding Jr. will star in the new action/comedy "Lies & Illusions," reports Variety.

The film follows a novelist being hunted by a spy who believes the writer holds millions of dollars in diamonds stolen by his dead fiancee.

Also on the slate for Christian is a role in the animated feature "Quantum Quest: A Cassini Space Odyssey," alongside John Travolta, Sarah Michelle Gellar and Samuel L. Jackson.

Cuba recently wrapped production on the comedy "Harold," starring Spencer Breslin and Ally Sheedy.

Haylie Duff is in talks to star in the indie film "Tug," per The Hollywood Reporter.

The project, also starring Sam Huntington, centers on a man whose life begins to unravel when he is torn between staying with his current girlfriend or going back to his psychotic ex (Duff).

Duff, whose bulk of acting experience came on TV's "7th Heaven," has several big screen projects in the works, including "Doesn't Texas Ever End," opposite Ben Savage.

Christina Ricci, Angelica Huston and Josh Lucas have signed on to star in the drama "Long Time Gone," according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Based on April Stevens' 1994 novel "Angel Angel," the film focuses on a mysterious woman (Ricci) who enters the life of a dysfunctional family and turns it upside down - one family member at a time.

Ricci recently wrapped up shooting "Alpha and Omega" with Hayden Panettiere and Justin Long. Her next project is "New York, I Love You," co-starring Shia LaBeouf.
