LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Carrie Underwood has a new man in her life.

According to the Ottawa Citizen, the former "American Idol" champ has been romantically linked to Canadian-born hockey player Mike Fisher, 28, a 6'1" center for the NHL's Ottawa Senators.

The couple reportedly met when Mike checked out one of Carrie's concerts in March 2008, but things appeared to heat up over the holidays when fans caught a glimpse of the 25-year-old Grammy winner on the Jumbotron "Hug Cam" at the Air Canada Centre. She was reportedly in a private VIP box, which also included the handsome hockey player's parents and his brother, Bud.

Carrie also reportedly spent New Year's Eve with Mike's sister, getting pedicures and being pampered at swanky spa and hair salon, Rinaldo.

"She was here with Mike Fisher's sister and the staff took good care of them," Pat Rinaldo told the paper. "She was very quiet, very sweet and pleasant. She wasn't demanding at all, everyone loved her and a lot of people recognized her."

Tony Greco, a fitness trainer in Ottawa, and a friend of the hockey hunk, told the paper that things are going well for the singer and her new love interest.

"I think it's serious, I mean he's really happy with her. They're a perfect match," he said.

On Monday, Mike didn't confirm the rumors when asked by reporters, but he didn't deny them either.

"I can't comment on anything in my personal life, so that's about all I can say," he said, according to the paper. "I don't really want to say anything."

Carrie previously dated Cowboy's quarterback Tony Romo and "Gossip Girl's" Chace Crawford.

    I agree-- Mike Fisher is a MAJOR hot stud and he is also a nice guy. Carrie is one of my favorite singers and she is also very sweet, so I hope this works out!

    I love Carrie! This is awesome! Mike Fisher is a major hottie and so nice! Everyone in his town loves Carrie already so this could be the real deal. I hope it works as Carrie deserves to find someone nice after that loser Tony romo. Chace is hot, but he was too young and immature for Carrie.
