Seems Candy Spelling is ready to make nice with her estranged daughter Tori.

"I love you, and I always will," she tells her in a new interview with USA Today.

Candy's remark comes a week after she penned a scathing note to Tori, 36, on her website, slamming her for treating her children, Liam, 2, and Stella, 1, as "reality show props."

She said she was just angry at the negative way she was portrayed on Tori's Oxygen reality show Tori & Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood, which Candy, 63, called "scripted."

On the show, Tori laments that her mom was a no-show at Stella's birthday party. "I'm mad that I actually got sucked back into holding out hope once again after 36 years," she cries. (Candy has maintained that she didn't want her reunion with her daughter to be filmed.)

Candy said she and Tori don't speak because "my daughter doesn't like the telephone. She doesn't answer. I text her. I have left messages. I've e-mailed her, and she doesn't respond."

So when putting together her recent book Stories From Candyland -- which featured stories written by friends and son Randy -- she didn't even bother asking Tori for a submission.

"It just didn't seem comfortable to ask her," Candy said. "I had written her so many times and really never received any kind of response."

In the book, she wrote a letter to her grandchildren because she "wanted them to know some of how their mother grew up, and some of our wonderful memories."

"I don't really know what she tells her children about me, and it was important for me to say something positive to them that someday they may read," she said. "I'm hoping that someday they see a different side than what they may have been told."

So could Candy and Tori ever reconcile one day?

"It could be years of disappointment. Maybe someday she'll get it," Candy tells USA Today. "She's my daughter. I may not approve of everything she does, but I love her."

why is everyone blaming candy? no mother is perfect but tori was ALWAYS used to getting her own way. now that "daddy" is gone, candy can't and WON'T put up with princess tori's DEMANDS anymore. tori only goes where the paprazzi is. i don't blame candy in the least for wanting to meet her granddaughter in private but obviously TORI NEEDS THE A

... but after getting her own reality show.. now is all about how great her dad was, how much she misses him.. and conviently, NOW that Randy is not in the spot light, she does not even mention him, but now brings the mother into the picture to bash her on her show. I liked Tori over the last few yrs, but something does not seem right with this.. with her always playing the victim.

Idk .. if you all look back at Tori and Candi in the last few yrs you'll see some of what actually may be facts here... Her brother, Randy, gets a reality show... on which Tori is on it .. and speaks to him, but not the dad or mom. Then, right before the dad died.. Tori had a falling out w/her dad, does not come to see him at all on his death bed...

Seems to me,& this is just my opinion,Candy is a master manipulator. Tori needs to listen to Dean & let this relationship go! Tori should concentrate on the relationship with her own children & forget her mother.

Candy is the b*%^h of the century! who cares where cameras are. they are your grandchildren and nothing else matters. she needs to stop making excuses and putting her daughter in the mud. She is tooo old for that s*&t. so selfish and evil, i would not want her around my children if i were Tori. who in the hell does that with a heart?

Candy get over. If you really loved your grandchild you would take any opportunity to see her, and you would NOT write an open letter on TMZ bashing your daughter. That's private business between family. You are just a drama queen riding on your daughters coat tails. Pitiful.
