Cameron Diaz: I Have This Life "Because I Don't Have Children"

Cameron Diaz isn't about to show off a baby bump anytime soon.

"I have an unbelievable life. In some ways, I have the life that I have because I don't have children," Diaz says in this Sunday's Parade magazine. "I don't think it's a compromise to have children. I don't think it's a compromise not to. I think its just a different choice."

She adds: "People might say, 'That's bull. She actually really wants to have a baby.' My answer is, 'No! Everything I'm bringing into my life right now isn't geared toward that.'"

The My Sister's Keeper actress, however, isn't writing off the idea of having children all together.

"I'm not somebody who is going to declare either way if I'm absolutely going to or I'm absolutely not going to have children," she says. "I have no idea. I'm still young."

Still, the star -- who turns 37 in August -- is not afraid to grow old in Hollywood.

Check out what Cameron Diaz used to look like.

"I have no problem with it. It's wonderful," she tells Parade. "Thank God we get older because if we're not getting older, we're dead. This is a much better option, to be getting older. And if we're not going forward, then we're stagnant, and we're stuck. And I've been stuck before. And I don't like it. It's not fun."

When asked if she has "ugly" days, she admitted, "Oh, sh-- yeah," but goes on to say that she doesn't let those moments get her down.

"I'm not going to walk through this world hating myself because somebody else doesn't think I'm pretty," she says. "All I can do is know how I feel about myself."

Diaz -- who has dated the likes of Matt Dillon, Jared Leto, Justin Timberlake and Paul Sculfor -- isn't scorned by lost loves.

"Men are wonderful," she says. "I don't think my feeling about that is ever going to change. I'm never going to feel differently about men. I'm not a man-hater. It's just not in my nature."

In fact, she says she's not afraid to walk away if a relationship isn't working.

"You always find the person who you're meant to be with at that time in your life, and what I've also found is that you have to move on from those people at certain times, because that's the way it happens," she says. "For me personally, there's nothing wrong with that. A lot of people find themselves trapped in something that they've outgrown and are unhappy. And they don't know how to get out of it because they think that they're supposed to make it happen."

No matter who Diaz ends up with, she's happy with her life.

"I don't have to prove anything to anybody because I know who I am," she says. "I have my own sense of myself. The things that I do, I do for myself. I do them to challenge myself. And I do them to have my own experience. And, hopefully, I'm also giving something back to the world."

Well then I love being selfish b/c I can't stand children and I feel bad for those who have ruined their lives by having them. It's great if you have nothing else you want in life but once you have kids that's it, you can never do what you want to do because it's all about the kids first and to me that's like being trapped inside a prison for the rest of you

It appears that Ed wants to take women back 100 years. Get real. I am happy to have kids and have a career. I have a lot of respect for anyone who doesn't have kids just because thats what is expected. Kids need to be wanted and loved, they aren't an accessory we can discard when we are tired of them.

Happiness differs from one person to another, so I believe when she says that she is happy. She is well balanced and you never see her stumbling out of a bar or in rehab. She is content with whatever happens in her life. I am a married working mom and I am happy with my life.
