Congratulations are in order! "Die Hard" star Bruce Willis and his wife, model Emma Heming Willis are expecting their first child together. Willis has three children with his ex-wife Demi Moore already, and this will be Emma's first baby. Us Weekly reports that Baby Willis will be born sometime early next year. Bruce and Emma have been married since 2009, and at the time they were married, the "Armageddon" star wasn't too sure he even wanted to start another family with his new bride.
With this news, Bruce. aged 56, becomes the latest in a long line of celebrities who have become fathers in their later years. Since men are biologically able to re-produce essentially their whole lives, there have been many cases of a May-December romance winding up producing offspring. Here now a few of the more famous instances.
Clint Eastwood - In 1996, a 66-year-old Clint Eastwood fathered Morgan with his wife Dina. Dina was 31 at the time. The "Million Dollar Baby" and "Unforgiven" director also sired two kids with his previous wife, model Maggie Johnson.
Hugh Hefner - The Playboy Magazine founder fathered two children with his wife, the former centerfold Kimberly Conrad. His second son, Cooper, was born in 1991 when Hef was 65 at the time.
Larry King - The former host of "Larry King Live" has been married a whopping eight times. His most recent wife, Shawn, has given him two children, both sons. Born in 1999 and 2000 respectively, the long-time talk show host was 65 and 66 years old when his sons were born.
Michael Douglas - The star of "Fatal Attraction" and "Wall Street" was 58 when he and his wife Catherine Zeta-Jones welcomed their first child together. Dylan Michael and his sister may just have a leg-up when it comes to future success in the business. Both their parents are Academy Award winners.
David Letterman - The quirky and irascible late night talk host was 57 years old when his son Harry was born to Letterman and his then girlfriend Regina Lasko. Harry is Dave's one and only child.
Charlie Chaplin - Perhaps one of the most famous older fathers in Hollywood history, the silent film star sired a son, Christopher at the ripe-old age of 73. Over his life time, Chaplin was married four times, and actually had eight children in total with his last wife Oona.
