LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Britney Spears is the first to admit she's had a "crazy year" -- and with her new album, "Circus," due out on Tuesday, it's hardly over yet.

In the January issue of Glamour hitting newsstands this week, the pop princess revealed how she's tried to find some peace and quiet after quite a chaotic past couple of years.

"The whole year has been a hell of a year for me," she said, adding that she "didn't know exactly where" she stood with fans when it came time to return to the public eye.

"I have 'come back' so many times, people are just like, 'Is this another one?'" she said. "It's kind of like a joke to me now."

But if her big night at the MTV Music Awards earlier this year was any indication, people are ready for more Britney.

"When I received the awards and [the audience] stood for me, it showed me how much love is out there," she said.

She won three awards at the September ceremony, including Video of the Year for "Piece of Me," from her last album, 2007's "Blackout."

Britney's had no problem finding praise overseas this week, turning in hot performances on the U.K. show "The X Factor" and the German Bambi Awards, where she picked up the trophy for Best International Pop Star.

And fans flocked to her in London this past Saturday night as Britney celebrated her December 2 birthday a little early at the club G-A-Y. In a video on her Web site, BritneySpears.com, the crowd chants "Britney! Britney!" as she waves and blows out her candles.

Still, she told Glamour, she'd rather spend her nights at home.

"I don't like going out," she said. "I hate clubs. I hate being around too many people. I love my home and staying in bed and watching 'Dancing With the Stars' or reading a Danielle Steel novel. I'm kind of boring."

And although she sounded excited for her new album, it's her children that keep her upbeat.

"You have to make sure you're a happy mom so they can be happy," she said, adding that she wants to find "a father figure" for sons Jayden James and Sean Preston.

"In five years I would like to be married and have a father figure for my kids," she said. "It's hard doing it on your own."

I think that Britney is really talented but she got famous too early so she didn't know what to do with her money. All in all, I think that Britney deserves another chane from the audience. Who knows, maybe she'll surprise us. Go Britney!!!!!!!

It is just a matter of time before she backslides again. The stress of touring, performing and being a mother to 2 young children is bound to catch up to her. She needs to back off on the media exposure and self promotion and learn to take care of herself on her own.

Last week she is saying she is boring and hounding her father to let her go clubbin and to see old pap Adan, this week she want s to find a father figure for her kids, hard to raise them alone. She is not raising them she has visitation. K-Fed was there for her immediately with her health problems, has raised those boys, he has not bad mouthed her once, but she is starting to do him. I have always loved Britney.. She is a great performer. I think its awful that people think just because she is a super star that she isn't allowed to have problems... Yes she has money, but money wont make problems magically go away... I have to give her credit. There is no way I could be a superstar. You never feel alone even for a minute... Keep up the good work Brit..We believe in you.

"It's hard doing it on your own". What is her visitation - a total of maybe 30 hours a week? If that? She should try actually raising her children by herself without a partner - like her ex is currently doing. He's not perfect but he has totally changed his life for those kids. Brit just seems intent on making another comeback & views her kids as a wa

It's one thing to marry and have children at a young age (some people do that and end up having happy lives and can handle the responsibility) but it's completely another matter to do all of this when you're immature and self-centered. She acted like was 17 again and had no kids to look after when her ex got custody. No excuses for the "rough year", becau

Britney is a perfect example of an ordinary person with problems. The fact is she rose above her problems and everyday is a learning experience for her. I will keep her in my prayers and God we will all follow the path that He has chosen for us. Just listen to his voice!!!
