Britney Spears' "comeback" album,
Circus, is No. 1.
Circus sold more than 505,000 copies in its first week of release, according to her label, Jive. It is the second biggest album debut of the year for a female artist.
"At the end of the day, I think she is America's pop princess, and the world's pop princess, and this just reconfirms it to everyone who doubted it," said her manager, Larry Rudolph.

Look back at Britney Spears' wild year. "
Circus is a little bit lighter than
Blackout," the singer recently said. "A lot of the songs I did at that time, I was going through a really dark time so a lot of the songs reflect that.
"They're two totally different vibes," she says. "This one has a lighter feel, a little bit more pop.
Blackout is darker, edgier, more urban."
Spears is set to kick off a
world tour March 3 in her home state of Louisiana. More than 400,000 concert tickets have been sold in the U.S. so far.
