LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Fresh off the resolution of her child custody battle, Britney Spears lent her star power to worthy cause helping kids battle autism.

The pop star and mother of two made an appearance at Jenny McCarthy and Jim Carrey's fundraiser for Generation Rescue, which benefits autism research Saturday night.

Britney appeared to be in good spirits, according to fundraiser guests.

"She looked great and seemed really happy," a party guest told People. "She smiled and clapped during the video about autism. She was very into the information and watched a little bit of the dancers from 'Dancing With the Stars', sneaking out during one of the performances."

Brit wasn't the only celeb stepping out for the good cause. Charlie Sheen and Brooke Mueller were also spotted at the event, along with director Robert Rodriguez and Rose McGowan.

Inside the event, host Jim Carrey kept spirits high by challenging another partygoer to a "Dancing With the Stars" style dance-off.

Oh!! It's polly now! Polly signs in as several persons on all different sites constantly writing the same drivel and nonsense. Sometimes it's Spear. Sometimes Jamie or Naccari. The practice is the sign of an immature and undeveloped mind. What kind of relationship are you looking for with that disingenuous rejoinder?

People are so busy nowadays, worrying and fearing what's next. STOP! Think about what you can do to help others that don't have it as good as you do. What have you done lately to "Pay-it-forward" like the book "21 Days To Creating Your Dream Life" talks about? Try doing one thing every week, eventually everyday, to change the perceptions of how p

JEN2 - You are a moron. She finally had a huge weight lifted, looks great, and had to courage to go out AND participate in a very unselfish cause (something I'm sure you would never do). Her children are not with her every single day. I suspect this was one of the nights she didn't have them, you judgemental, piece of crap.

I really hope she can comeback strong and better. I'm so happy to see she is looking better. She looks as gorgeous as always. I hope she wins the MTV award she's up for. Maybe she'll realize she still has fans and we all want her back...the way she used to be.

Hey Britney, Thanks for attending a fundraiser for autism! It is a very important issue to many families. I hope that you put your energy and your image to other charitable causes. Causes need champions, and celebrity support inspires others to act. I find it most admirable that you came out to show support for children with autism. Thanks again!
